KV School Age Limit for Admission 2025-26 in Class 1 and Balvatika: According to the KVS consolidated guidelines 2025-26, the child’s age is the main requirement for admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya‘s class 1 and Balvatika courses. Date of birth is most important factor for applying any classes in KVS. Therefore, before submitting an application on the KVS online portal for the academic year 2025–2026, it is crucial to confirm your child‘s age and date of birth to assure eligibility for the right courses.

A kid, including those born on April 1st, must be at least 6 years old by March 31st of the academic year in which admission is sought. The following lists the minimum age criteria for admission to each class at Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Notably, the minimum and maximum age criteria for admission to Class I will be adjusted for the academic year 2022–2023; nevertheless, the age limitations for the relevant classes will continue to be gradually modified going forward.
A two-year extension of the maximum age limit may be granted to Children with Special Needs (CwSN). Furthermore, students who apply in the same year that they finish their Class X exam are eligible for admission to Class XI regardless of their age. Similarly, there won’t be any upper or lower age restrictions for Class XII entrance, as long as the student has continued to enroll consistently since finishing Class XI.
