The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions does not collect data on the use of AI applications by officials across various departments. There is no explicit ban on the implementation of AI-based tools by Government Departments, recognizing that this technology is emerging and holds significant promise for various citizen-focused web applications.
Nevertheless, government officials are required to exercise appropriate diligence and caution to safeguard the safety, security, and confidentiality of public information when employing any digital technologies or platforms.
The use of applications, tools, or websites by government personnel is regulated according to cybersecurity guidelines and departmental security protocols established by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other pertinent authorities.
